Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) Survey – Old Wyandot Lodge – Columbus Recreation and Parks Department – Columbus, Ohio

The Columbus Recreation and Parks Department planned to demolish the Old Wyandot Lodge located at the McKnight Outdoor Education Center, and requested an asbestos-containing materials (ACM) survey of the lodge prior to demolition. The lodge was a single-story, slab on grade building approximately 4,362 square feet in size. STONE conducted an ACM survey in general accordance with the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants regulations. A representative from STONE certified by the State of Ohio as an Asbestos Hazard Evaluation Specialist visited the lodge and collected samples of building materials. Samples were analyzed for asbestos via polarized light microscopy (PLM). The ACM report summarized the findings and included a sample location diagram, sample logs, photographs, and laboratory data sheets. The client required a rush on these services, and STONE performed the ACM survey and completed the report in three days’ time.
