Restroom Upgrade East Fork Lake State Park – ODNR – Clermont County, Ohio

As part of STONE’s contract to provide Engineering Services on an as-needed basis, STONE undertook a project to upgrade restroom facilities at East Fork Lake State Park. The project included the evaluation of the structural, electrical, and mechanical conditions at 10 rest room facilities, and the detailed design of improvements to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), electrical, and plumbing code requirements.

STONE developed a preliminary engineering study for the renovation of 10 restroom/shower buildings in the campground area of the park. The study was to develop three design alternatives for the exterior façade and roof, as well as mechanical electrical plumbing (MEP) fixture alternatives. The scope of work included new wood truss systems, new exterior cladding, and new MEP systems, focusing on durability and resistance to vandalism.

As lead consultant, STONE was responsible for managing three subconsultants including the architect, structural engineer, and the MEP designer. After base plans for each of the campground restroom facilities were developed, the team proposed various cost-effective improvements to upgrade the condition of the restrooms and meet code requirements, while also focusing on long term operation and maintenance factors. The resulting upgrades included new roofs and support structures for the rest rooms, improved layout and handicap accessibility for each of the sites, and new plumbing fixtures and details that are vandal resistant yet aesthetically attractive. STONE provided resident project representation construction services for this project.

I can’t thank you enough for everyone’s hard work on this difficult project.  Your team was very diligent and very professional.  Jeff really fought for us at the city planning meeting. We finally got an approval from the city and I couldn’t be happier.  Please keep up the great work.  I will recommend your firm to all my contacts. Hats off to your staff. You should be proud.
