OTT-SR 163-33.85 Roundabout – Lakeside Marblehead, Ohio

STONE performed the RMR Environmental Screening and completed the Public Involvement requirements for ODOT’s proposed roundabout project. The Public Involvement requirements involved the development and implementation of the Public Involvement Plan, which included preparing notification letters, public meeting flyers, meeting informational handouts, attending the public meeting, and tracking public comments. Preparation of the public materials required significant GIS and data analyses. Tasks performed for this project by STONE were prepared with and reviewed by TRC.

The public involvement meeting and tasks were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to COVID-19, public meetings were conducted in-person. However, ODOT and the consultants had to be flexible and prepare to fulfill the public involvement meeting requirements within a virtual platform. Additionally, the public involvement footprint was larger than initially anticipated and included challenges reaching the individual property owners. STONE maintained versatility in preparing the public involvement materials as needed on the virtual platform. Physical meeting materials and displays were developed and issued electronically, as well as public comment tracking. STONE also prepared the physical mailings to property owners and met all deadlines as required by the public involvement commitments.

“We are pleased with your team’s responsiveness and plan design efforts on ROS-23-19.46 intersection improvement project.  Keep up the good work!”
