ROS-23-21.20 Roadway Design Services – Ross County, Ohio

STONE was contracted to assist with the design of intersection improvements for this ODOT project located along US-23 at Crouse Chapel Road in Ross County as part of a task order for the ODOT District 9 General Engineering Services contract.  STONE’s professional services included preparing and submitting Stage 2, Stage 3, and Final Tracings for the project.

Project included a southbound offset left turn lane and concrete median in the intersection to provide better traffic flow and reduce traffic incidents. The project involved roadway widening to add a turn lane, storm sewer adjustments, and necessary traffic control devices. Due to the site conditions benching was used as part of the lane widening on northbound US 23 for slope stability. Road closure on Crouse Chapel Road was required for intersection improvements along with maintenance of traffic and a detour plan. STONE completed cross sections, plan and profiles, drainage calculations, detour plan, Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans, and cost summaries. Submittals were made on schedule and within budget.

I just wanted to reach out to both of you & all of Stone for your outstanding effort, due diligence & professionalism on this project.

I’m certainly no ESA expert, but I was blown away by the detail contained in your report, especially given the tight timeframe that was required for delivery.

Please know that your work at Walnut Grove is very much appreciated by everyone here at POAH.

For the record, I am now a huge fan of Stone Environmental, and I hope we will continue our working relationship well into the future.

Doug Dempsey, POAH
